Care on Arrival
Water gently upon arrival and settle in a sunny location before transplanting. Sage ships well and establishes readily. Transplant into well-drained, lean soil after your last frost date - do not bury the crown deeply and ensure the planting site drains freely. Avoid rich or moist conditions. Water sparingly once established; overwatering is the primary threat to sage's long-term health. A gravel mulch around the base helps in heavier soils. Harvest leaves throughout the season, cutting stems back by one-third to encourage fresh growth.
