Bacopa (Bacopa monnieri), also known as water hyssop or brahmi, is a low-growing, creeping perennial native to wetlands throughout Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Its small, succulent leaves and delicate white to pale lavender flowers form dense, mat-like ground cover that is as beautiful as it is botanically fascinating.

Bacopa thrives in consistently moist to wet conditions and can even grow partially submerged, making it an excellent choice for water gardens, pond edges, or containers kept moist. It prefers full sun to partial shade and is a warm-season grower that will appreciate protection from frost. Once established in the right conditions, it spreads easily and rewards consistent moisture with vigorous growth.
